The primary objective was to establish a state-of-the-art skin cancer clinic that met all regulatory standards and provided a welcoming environment for patients. This involved:
1. Bringing the site up to current Building Code of Australia (BCA) standards.
2. Installing specialised infrastructure required for a medical clinic.
3. Incorporating existing building elements into the design, such as the original lift foyer, to create a cohesive and visually appealing reception area.
4. Maximising the use of available floor space by strategically designing consulting rooms, office areas, and accommodating a third-party Pathology service.
The clients’ confidence in our ability to realise their vision stemmed from a history of successful collaboration. Having previously partnered with us on the construction of their initial clinic, they recognised our capacity to translate their ideas into tangible, highquality outcomes. This established trust and familiarity made us the
obvious choice for them when they sought to expand their practice.
Throughout the project, the clients actively engaged with the project team, drawing from their firsthand experience in clinic management and design preferences. Their insights were invaluable in shaping various aspects of the clinic, from its overall layout to the finer details of aesthetics and functionality.
By leveraging their expertise and preferences, the clients ensured that the new clinic not only met industry standards but also aligned closely with their vision for a modern, patient-centric facility. This collaborative approach fostered a sense of ownership and pride among the clients, who were deeply
Navigating the intricacies of construction within the Sydney CBD presented a myriad of challenges for the project team. With the bustling urban environment of the CBD, coordinating deliveries, navigating traffic, and adhering to noise regulations presented ongoing obstacles throughout the build process.
The stringent adherence to Building Code of Australia (BCA) standards was paramount, particularly when retrofitting the space for medical purposes. Ensuring compliance with these regulations required meticulous planning and execution to guarantee the safety and functionality of the clinic.
Additionally, the need to design around existing building elements posed a significant hurdle, as it necessitated a delicate balance between maintaining functionality and preserving aesthetics. The constraints of the older-style office building demanded creative solutions to integrate modern medical infrastructure seamlessly.
Despite these hurdles, the project team’s expertise and strategic planning ensured that construction progressed efficiently, ultimately culminating in the successful completion of the CBD Skin Cancer Clinic.
The successful completion of the CBD Skin Cancer Clinic project resulted in the transformation of an older-style office space into a contemporary medical facility that met the specific needs of skin cancer diagnosis and treatment.
With its strategic layout, modern infrastructure, and personalised touches, the clinic stands as a testament to effective project management and client collaboration in achieving a shared vision.
